Press Releases

  • IRELAND: Catherine Connolly leads Heather Humphreys in every qualifying county head-to-head on local radio, with the tightest margins in Dublin (+6.3 pp) and Limerick (+5.9 pp) according to PR intelligence platform Everhaze which released its latest report in its ‘Battle of the Airwaves’ series.

The report which tracked 4,021 radio mentions of the candidates from 25th September 2025 to 10th of October 2025 shows that In overall volume, despite dropping out of the campaign, Jim Gavin remains the dominant voice on air, capturing 50.1% of all radio mentions (2,013 of 4,021) across 60 stations and show.

In other key findings the latest Everhaze Battle of the Airwaves report found that:

    • Share of Voice consisted of Gavin 50.1%; Connolly 27.3%; Humphreys 22.6%,

    • A County head-to-head (local-only) found that Connolly leads Humphreys in all qualifying counties with Dublin and Limerick the closest contests.

    • The most talked about trend so far in the campaign are discussions about Fianna Fáil Leadership which has dominated the narrative in this window (875 mentions, 21% of all campaign mentions, with net sentiment −68.7 pp).

Speaking about the findings, James McCann, CEO of Everhaze said:

“At the midway point, the airwaves have been dominated by the fallout from Jim Gavin’s campaign. Tis withdrawal set the agenda and kept volume elevated. But when you strip that noise out and look at the head-to-heads, the race is tighter than the topline suggests, with Catherine Connolly leading Humphreys across every qualifying county. As we enter the final two weeks, the battleground is clear: national shows will steady the candidates narrative, but local talk will decide perception.”

Everhaze is an Irish-built PR intelligence platform that tracks real-time media coverage across radio, print, and online sources in Ireland and the UK. Its technology combines broadcast capture with AI-driven analysis to map who is getting talked about, where, and in what tone. The platform is widely used by communicators to monitor campaigns, understand sentiment shifts, and measure share of voice.

As part of the 2025 Presidential campaign, Everhaze has launched the “Battle of the Airwaves” tracker, a live view of how each candidate (Heather Humphreys, Catherine Connolly, Jim Gavin) is performing week-by-week on radio. The tracker highlights:

    • Share of voice across national vs local stations

    • County-by-county exposure showing where candidates are winning or lagging

    • Sentiment balance, capturing whether coverage is favourable, critical, or neutral

    • Programme battlegrounds, where margins between rivals are razor-thin

  • IRELAND: Fianna Fáil’s Jim Gavin has emerged as the candidate with the strongest national radio footprint in the run-up to the 2025 Presidential election, according to new research from Irish PR intelligence platform Everhaze.

Analysis of 2,500 radio clips over the past twelve weeks shows that while Independent Catherine Connolly leads overall mentions (36.3%), Gavin (33.5%) pulls ahead in terms of national airwaves share, with 34.9% of his coverage on national talk formats. By contrast, Connolly’s campaign is more heavily weighted to local outlets (68.6% of her coverage) and Heather Humphreys’ profile is even more locally concentrated (71.3%).

This national advantage translates into strong presence across high-reach talk shows such as The Pat Kenny Show, Newstalk Breakfast, and The Anton Savage Show, where margins between candidates are typically slim but Gavin remains consistently competitive.

On local radio, however, Connolly retains the edge, leading in 13 counties including Donegal (+22pp) and Galway (+18pp). Gavin posts selective peaks (notably Louth, where he dominates with 77.5% of mentions) and converts his national presence into 8 county leads overall. Humphreys, meanwhile, has a more concentrated footprint, with standout strength in Cavan/Monaghan (+12pp lead).

Sentiment analysis underscores a three-way contrast: Humphreys records the most positive net tone (+12pp), Gavin trends neutral-positive (+5pp), while Connolly faces a more polarised balance (−3pp).

Speaking about the findings of the report, James McCann, CEO of Everhaze said:

“With nominations closed and facing into the four week sprint, each candidate will be looking to own the share of voice across the national airwaves to capture undecided voters. Outside of Dublin the counties of Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon have heard the least from all candidates so far which is unsurprising given the battle for the urban centres of Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway. As the campaign heats up its every candidate's race to lose in presenting a clear narrative and message to the public.”

  • AI-powered PR tech platform Everhaze has announced the launch of its new real-time radio and online media monitoring platform for Ireland and the United Kingdom. This latest addition marks the Irish company’s entrance into the media monitoring market as it works towards the roll out of its AI-PR agent technology.

Built by James McCann, the founder of PR agency ClearStory International, and Cormac Glynn, a former developer with Bank of America, Everhaze currently provides media database and CRM services across Ireland and the UK.

To date, Everhaze has been focused on leveraging AI to bridge the sizeable gap between capabilities and insights for PR agencies and teams. Traditional processes have meant public relations professionals have experienced a high level of administration work between managing outbound PR campaigns and converting media monitoring results into actionable intelligence.

Everhaze aims to complement existing public relations’ professionals by mitigating arduous tasks and complementing existing teams. This latest new feature enables clients to react swiftly to breaking news and crisis scenarios by providing instant access to transcripts, audio, and synopsis within just 15 minutes of a mention across local and national media. Everhaze is also set to launch a ‘narrative tracking’ function, whereby brands can track localised or national sentiment trajectory in real-time or over extended periods.

According to figures by the Central Statistics Office (CSO), 15 percent of all enterprises used Artificial Intelligence (AI) in 2024, compared with 8 percent in 2023. Among large enterprises, more than half (51 percent) used AI, with 30 percent using it for automated workflows or decision-making. A recent study by Statista also shows that 75 percent of global PRs already use genAI solutions in the workflow. This new media monitoring capability marks further progress on Everhaze’s mission to develop the world’s first AI-powered PR Executives. The overall goal is to assist under-resourced communications teams to both execute and monitor effective media relations campaigns effectively.

Speaking about the launch of its new media monitor and its significance for PR agencies across Ireland and the UK, James McCann, CEO of Everhaze said:

“There is an arms race happening at the moment in the ability to equip brands to analyse and react quickly to crisis and brand management issues. One area we have centred on is the provision of real-time narrative analysis. Knowing you’re the subject of dozens or hundreds of mentions doesn’t help you understand the significance of what is being said, especially when you are under-resourced on the comms side. Our solution provides that real-time intelligence in digestible format that can be actioned instantly.”

Everhaze has received support from Enterprise Ireland through its New Frontiers programme and is self-funded by its co-founders. The company’s headquarters are located in the Media Cube at the Institute of Technology, Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland.
